In a recent philanthropic effort, the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) collaborated with 1Ummah Organization to distribute 10,000 bags of 10kg rice to vulnerable populations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The project, coordinated by 1Ummah Organization, aimed to provide palliative support to those in need.
Project Overview
The project, which took place from April 4-9, 2024, involved the allocation and distribution of rice to NGOs, mosques, orphanages, communities, and settlements of IDPs, people with disabilities, and leprosariums across the six Area Councils of the FCT.
Background
1Ummah Organization was approached by ADF on April 1, 2024, to coordinate the distribution of rice to established NGOs and community associations. A meeting was held on April 3, 2024, to discuss the project’s modalities. 1Ummah identified 38 additional organizations to receive the rice, in addition to the 17 organizations already listed by ADF.
